Nick Evans (USA)
Nick Evans ist ein Singer/Songwriter aus einer kleinen Stadt in der Nähe von Nashville, Tennesse. Durch die Musikleidenschaft seiner Eltern machte er in seiner Jugend Bekanntschaft mit der Musik von Künstlern wie Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell und Simon & Garfunkel und begann schon während seiner Grundschulzeit Lieder zu schreiben.
Obwohl er zurzeit solo unterwegs ist, ist er außerdem Leadsänger der Indie Band "The Culprits", deren aktuelle EP "While the Woods Snooze" Folk und Americana-Stil mit beschaulichen, ehrlichen, ursprünglichen Texten vereint. Evans Solo-Material wurde übrigens ähnlich beschrieben.
Wie auch immer, manche Elemente, so wie seine klare Stimme und die direkten Texte, scheinen aus anderen Genres entlehnt, um seine Werke zu einer schwungvollen und einprägsamen Interpretation einer auf Anhieb gefälligen Musiktradition zu machen.
Nicks erste Solo EP, hat den Namen “American Drab,” und kommt Sommer 2016.

Nick Evans is a singer/songwriter from a small town near Nashville, Tennessee USA. He was introduced to the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Simon & Garfunkel among others at a young age by his parents and began writing songs in grade school. Although currently performing solo, he is also the lead singer of indie group, The Culprits, whose most recent EP (2013), “While the Woods Snooze,” blends folk and Americana styles with introspective, honest and natural lyrics. His solo material has been described as similar—an allusion to the century-old Appalachian canon that still resonates between the mountains, valleys and coves of his childhood. However, some features, such as his clear voice and forthright and personal lyrics, seem as if borrowed from other genres—a bold and fresh take on an instantly familiar musical tradition.
Nick’s first solo EP, “American Drab,” is set to be released summer 2016.
