Ihre markante Stimme verbindet Inspirationen aus altem Jazz und altem Country mit ihrer ganz eigenen Interpretation von Ausdruck. Sie schreibt am liebsten, wenn sie traurig ist, aber wie sie sagt, “manchmal wollen die Leute einfach nur traurig sein - es ist zeitweilig sogar angenehm, weil es das Glück so viel süßer macht”.
