Short Ideas, oder wie man mit Pastellfarben ein Chiaroscuro malt. Eine Landschaft des Ärmelkanals vor den Gewässern.

Die Folk-Musik der Zwillinge Léo und Tom entfaltet ihre rauen Wurzeln unter dem Mantel der französischen Flandern-Ebene. Die sanften Melodien der Gitarren sind voller Indie-Klänge. Die Texte sind sowohl rätselhaft als auch von einem rohen Realismus geprägt. Der Schlagzeugsound klingt eher geblasen als geschlagen.
Die Transhumanz von Short Ideas reicht von Fleet Foxes bis Animal Collective, eine Pilgerreise für ihre letzte EP: How Could a Touch Be Softer? Die Frage ist natürlich ironisch gemeint.

The folk-music of the twins, Léo and Tom, deploys its rough roots under the mantle of the French Flanders plains. The guitars’ gentle melodies are filled with indie tones. The lyrics are both enigmatic and of a raw realism. The drum sounds more blown than hit.
