Bombadil (USA)
Bombadil ist eine Pop-Rock-Band aus Durham, North Carolina. Ihr melodischer Sound verbindet Gesangsharmonien, Akustikgitarre, Schlagzeug, Klarinette, Klavier und Synthesizer. Während der Show wechseln die drei Bandmitglieder zwischen dem Spielen ihrer Instrumente und dem Tanzen. Ihr neues Album „How The Moon Got Back Home“ entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Rivis, die dabei half, das Material für eine abendfüllende Performance aus Geschichte, Gesang und Tanz zu entwickeln. Es gibt Hip-Hop-Tanzroutinen mit Drum-Loops und ruhige Balladen mit präzisen Gesten, die von der Martha-Graham-Technik inspiriert sind.
All dies gipfelt in einer Feier des Lebens, die die Bedeutung der Überwindung großer Hindernisse und der Vermeidung von Verzweiflung angesichts drohender böser Mächte hervorhebt.
In den letzten zwei Jahren tourte die Band mit der zeitgenössischen Tänzerin Madison Via Rivis, die Choreografien für sich selbst und die Band entwickelt hat.

Bombadil is a pop rock band from Durham,North Carolina which has released nine albums and three EPs and toured across the world. Their melodic sound incorporates vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar, drums, clarinet, piano and synthesizers. For the last two years, the band has toured with contemporary dancer Madison Via Rivis who has choreographed movements for herself and the band. During the show, the three members move between playing instruments and dancing. Their new album, How The Moon Got Back Home, was a close collaboration with Rivis, who helped develop the material for an evening length performance of story, song and dance. There are hip-hop dance routines with drum loops and quiet ballads with precise gestures inspired by the Martha Graham technique, all culminating in a celebration of life that highlights the importance of overcoming great obstacles and avoiding despair in the face of looming evil forces.
