Postman (UKR)

Kostiantyn Pochtar, besser bekannt als Postman, begann seine musikalische Odyssee in Kiew, wo er mit nur einer Gitarre und einer Mundharmonika intime „City-Folk“-Songs komponierte.
Seine frühen Werke fingen die alltäglichen Wunder des städtischen Lebens in seiner Heimatstadt ein und boten einen rohen, akustischen Sound, der seine Umgebung widerspiegelte. Einer dieser frühen Songs, „Kyivski Vulytsi“ (Die Straßen von Kiew), wurde ein großer Hit und gilt seitdem für viele als inoffizielle Hymne der ukrainischen Hauptstadt.

Im Laufe der Jahre wagte sich Postman in unbekannte musikalische Gefilde vor. Während die Akustikgitarre bei Live-Auftritten sein Hauptinstrument ist, sind seine Studioalben oft mit reichhaltigen Arrangements verziert, die seine Musik mit sanfter Psychedelia und Art-Pop würzen.

Die jüngste EP „Phantasma“, die im Frühjahr 2026 über das französische Label La Mission erschien, erhielt breite Anerkennung von Kritikern und starke Unterstützung durch Radiosender wie FIP, France Inter, RFI sowie führende französische Musikmedien. Mit jeder neuen Veröffentlichung rückt Postman die zeitgenössische ukrainische Musik weiterhin in einen breiteren globalen Kontext, und „Phantasma“ offenbart einen Künstler, der ein neues Maß an Klarheit und Selbstbewusstsein erreicht hat.

Woher kommt also der Name „Postman“? Es handelt sich um eine direkte Übersetzung von Kostiantyns Nachnamen „Pochtar“ aus dem Ukrainischen ins Englische.

His early works captured the everyday wonders of his hometown’s urban life, offering a raw, acoustic sound that reflected his surroundings.
